Visitation Ministry

Visitors: Thank you for your ministry! The ministers of our church are all its members. In this role it is helpful for you to also be a referral person to the many ministries we have here at Calvary. Please call the church office, the pastor or the coordinator of one of the ministries that you feel the person you visit may need:

Stephen Ministry. There are times when each of us needs the care of another person: A Christian friend, a Stephen Minister! Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry; those receiving care can be sure that their identity and what goes on in the caring relationship will remain private. Consider calling the Stephen Ministry Coordinator if the person you visit expresses or exhibits these concerns: Grieving for a loss, i.e. job, divorce, death or other; recovering from a personal or family crisis; having difficulty facing life's transitions; those who are homebound, have disabilities or chronic illnesses. Stephen Ministers provide extended but time limited support to their care receivers.

Meal Ministry. The Calvary Meal Ministry is a volunteer project among Calvary's members which seeks to provide two weeks of meals for people in need to meet the stress of a major event in their lives. This could be birth, death, illness or any crisis or stressful event which disrupts the pattern of living. If you find someone who could benefit from this kind of nurture, tell them about the ministry and that we offer these meals to them as a gift; tell them that the Meal Ministry Coordinator will call them for details such as the most helpful times to deliver meals, address, food allergies, etc., and please inform the church office of names and any other helpful information. If you have questions or comments, please call the Meal Ministry Coordinator by leaving a message with the church office.

Fix-It Ministry. House repairs needed? Replacing a door, repairing sheetrock, painting, or building an access ramp are all examples of jobs that a group of Calvary men and women are ready to help with. If you find somone who has a project of a day or less in duration that Fix-It Ministry can do for them, contact the Church Office at 346-4780 and leave a message.

Prayer Chain. Many members of Calvary devote special times of prayer for expressed prayer requests. If someone you visit shares a worrisome concern, please offer to place the concern with the prayer chain. This may be done by leaving a message for the prayer chain coordinator at the church office or contacting her directly at sazdent@arvig.net.

A word from the Pastor. Bless you as the Spirit breaks forth in and through your daily ministries of mutual care and blessing. Please contact me if you need some support or believe someone you are visiting would be nourished by a pastoral call and the Sacrament of Communion.
