Technology Fast For Lent. The season of Lent ends Saturday, April 3 (the day before Easter Sunday). It is a time of year that we try to simplify and sacrifice in order to focus on the meaning of Jesus and his ministry. This year we'd like to encourage our church family to participate in a technology fast. Although technology can make life easier and more efficient, it can also become very consuming and have adverse effects on our lives and relationships. We encourage you to develop your own customized technology fast during the season of Lent. The two aspects to consider are selecting (1) what items you are willing to give up and (2) when you will give them up. Technology to consider limiting includes: television, computers, cell phones, and iPods (mp3 players). Once you identify those items that you would like to limit, come up with a reasonable but challenging fasting schedule of when these selected items are off-limits. Whatever you decide and come up with for your family, we'd like to hear about it. Let us know what you are planning to do and how it goes by contacting Rob in the church office (no e-mails or texts allowed!). We hope this idea will help to strengthen your faith and relationships this Lenten season!
